As the instructional coach, I was responsible for the facilitation of professional learning communities and the instructional development of school personnel to meet the needs of our diverse population of learners academically, emotionally and socially. Our professional development design maintained an interdisciplinary focus on the daily implementation of Cognitive, Behavioral and Affective engagement strategies that lead to authentic learning experiences for each individually unique student. By embedding all three types of engagement strategies, we targeted the whole learner in every activity and interaction so that knowledge and learning were transferable to multiple contexts and situations.
